Psycho-Pass Ready to Unleash Dystopia on Europe
Having been released to critical acclaim overseas, Psycho-Pass: Mandatory Happiness is the latest Japanese export ready to make it’s way west.
Psycho-Pass first aired on Japanese screens as a TV series in 2014 and it explores a grim vision of our future in the age of 24/7 surveillance. Less than a century from now the government has successfully developed a technology that can accurately profile the mental state and disposition of any subject, thereby creating their ‘psycho-pass.’ Seen by most as an amazing tool in the quest for happiness, the psycho-pass nevertheless has a darker side – the crime coefficient.
The crime coefficient is basically a number which reveals an individual’s potential to commit crime. In a world where criminal intent and criminal activity are one and the same, this terrifying breakthrough facilitates pre-emptive punishment.
You play as either cool investigator Nadeshiko Kugatachi or Takuma Tsurugi, the mercurial enforcer. Each choice you make will directly affect the plot and following a certain path could bring the game to a very abrupt end.
Psycho-Pass: Mandatory Happiness is set for a European Playstation™4 release on 16th September 2016.
In the search for justice, will you be able to distinguish right from wrong?
