Destiny 2: The Biggest Launch Of The Year … So Far
Unless you’ve been living under a rock this past week, the top game on everyone’s console has to be Destiny 2. The sequel to the slow burner of the past 3 years, Bungie have listened to the feedback of the first edition and created gaming masterpiece.
The sequel has definitely delivered with; a genuinely enjoyable story based cinematic campaign, with gripping cut-scenes and interesting characters, fantastic PVP (Player vs Player) and new destinations to explore with mind blowing graphics that just make you want to delve deeper and deeper.
The popularity of the game was highlighted after a tweet from Bungie, stating “Thank you all so much for playing, Guardians! Right now Destiny 2 has over 1.2 Million concurrent players online. We’ll see you in the wild.” Although according to figures this hasn’t been as successful as the prequel launch (back in 2014), but when you take into consideration Destiny was launched across 4 platforms at the same time, whereas Destiny 2 has currently only been released on 2 platforms, with the release of the PC version still to follow (October 24th) this could be a massive year for Bungie and Activision.
The first forecasts on sales of Destiny 2 on PlayStation 4 indicate UK copies sold over 102,000 by 9th September, only 3 days after release! Claiming a 58% share of sales of Destiny 2 in the UK. One thing is for sure, Destiny 2 has impressed on a lot of fronts and it is definitely worth a try.
